Museum plans summertime special events,such Happy Hour Thursdays; enjoy the museum for free and get a bite to eat at a food truck and enjoy DJ music. Other museum activities include A Book and a Look, in which families can check out a storybook and take it into the galleries to read in front of a work of art. MFAH staff will match up each family’s interests and favorite things with a storybook-and-art pairing. Creation Station offers art-making projects for families that are inspired by original works of art on display in the galleries. Families are encouraged to work as artists, using similar materials or similar ideas as the artist who created the focus work of art.

Experiences include a hands-on, interactive walk through the human body and a 4-D theater.
